Freedom Motorsports Gets Non-Industry Sponsor

Each new season of motorcycle road racing brings a sponsor from outside the industry, peaking the interest of other teams, fans and thankfully, world-wide corporations that are not currently involved in motorsports.

For 2001, Honda Racing announced Universal Studios as a major sponsor for both their road race and motocross teams. Their trucks, bikes, uniforms, leathers and jerseys are all adorned with a Universal Studios log and the head of cartoon character and team mascot, Woody Woodpeckers. Universal Studios has plans to do various promotions with Honda Racing and recently had motocrosser Sebastien Tortelli and road racer Miguel Duhamel racing in new gear, while the bikes they rode had new bodywork. The gear and bikes featured images of The Mummy Returns to promote the recently released sequel.

So...it came as no surprise to the officials and competitors of the Formula USA National Road Race series when Stoney Landers and Jason Paden (instructors for Keith Code's California Superbike school) and riders for Freedom Motorsports Group Inc. showed up for round two of the SFX promoted series at Willow Springs International Raceway and announced their new out-of-the industry team sponsor, Dianetics.

Dianetics, a book authored by L. Ron Hubbard, is noted as the worlds most popular self-help book and a New York Times bestseller. With the success that Keith Code, Paden and Landers have each had after reading the book, the partnership between the Freedom Motorsports Group and Dianetics fit perfectly. Keith, Jason and Stoney all state an improvement in their concentration, focus and reaction time after reading the book front to back, cover to cover.

Look for Landers and Paden on their Dianetics Suzuki GSXR600's to contest the Formula USA Sportbike series at the four remaining rounds, the next being June 29, 30 and July 1 at Virginia International Raceway. Jason's 22 years of riding experience has seen him ranked as high as eighth in the nation in the 250cc GP class while Landers six years of riding includes a WERA 600cc Production Amateur championship in his first year of racing as well as three regional championships.
